Uterosacral Ligament Suspension

A Uterosacral Ligament Suspension restores support to the vagina after a hysterectomy.

A hysterectomy involves the removal of the uterus and cervix. Without the support of these organs, a vaginal prolapse (displacement) occurs, which causes issues for all pelvic floor organs. Uterosacral Ligament Suspension is a minimally invasive procedure that can be performed in tandem with a hysterectomy or any time after. During this procedure, the ligaments that were originally supporting the uterus are connected to the top of the vagina. These newly placed ligaments will then elevate the vagina to its original location.
