A Sacrospinous Ligament Fixation is used to restore support to the uterus or the vagina in patients who have had a hysterectomy.
Drs. KImble will perform the procedure transvaginally via a small incision made into the vaginal wall. Stitches are placed in the sacrospinous ligament (a.k.a. the strong ligament) and the cervix or vagina in patients with a hysterectomy. This procedure is typically combined with hysterectomies and other procedures that correct bladder and/or bowel prolapses as well as stress incontinence.
