Hysterectomy

The procedure unfortunately known as “hysterectomy,” or as we at the Kimble Center prefer to call it, a uterectomy, is the second most common surgical procedure for women in the United States. The procedure, which involves the removal of the uterus, may be performed for a variety of reasons, including:
  • Prolapse
  • Uterine fibroids
  • Endometriosis
  • Excessive, prolonged, or abnormal bleeding
  • Chronic pain
At the Kimble Center for Intimate Cosmetic Surgery, we are experts in all methods of uterectomy including vaginal, laparoscopic, robotic, and abdominal.
With more than 600,000 uterectomies (hysterectomies) performed each year in the United States, we believe that this is a procedure worthy of a larger conversation and will work with you to determine the best option for your specific needs and goals. To learn more, we invite you to watch “The Procedure Formerly Known as “Hysterectomy,” Explained” from Drs. Kimble’s Vagina Talk podcast.
