Vulvar Fissures

Vulvar fissures can appear as small cracks, abrasions, or tears in the delicate vulvar skin. Most often, women and/or people with vaginas who have experienced menopause are most susceptible to vulvar fissures due to the increased likelihood of vaginal dryness. When dealing with chronic vulvar fissures, you may notice pain upon vaginal penetration, burning during urination, and spotting of blood.
